Years ago, Tom Ross made a series of t-shirts called the Political Windbag — ridiculous real quotes from self-important people, printed in big type and left to speak for themselves. He loved Carlin, Pryor, Mel Brooks, John Candy, Belushi, and the Blues Brothers, and it showed: the joke was never invented, the joke was that they actually said it.
Shirtation is his son keeping the series alive — with a modern workshop. Software watches the news cycle, drafts shirt lines in the Windbag tradition, and paints the art. Humans direct all of it and approve every design before it exists on a shirt. Some days the crowd votes on which version gets printed.
Our designs are made with traditional and cutting-edge graphic design tools, including the latest techniques in AI — all under human direction, with every design human-curated before publication. No design is sold without a person choosing it.
The Windbag has no team. It mocks the wind — whoever is blowing.
